The starting point of this book are objects and installations by artist Michaela Schweighofer, which deal with the stage as platform and sculpture as prop. The authors are friends: Artists, critics and curators, whom she invited to write a text at the intersection of their practices. The text types are hybrid, they are composed of letter form, essay and interview. The idea: to create a subjective-scientific anthology on the topic, to make phenomena of the private visible as a symptom of the structural, and to offer a direct insight into a contemporary art practice.

(*1983 in Graz, lives and works in Graz and Vienna) is a visual artist with an investigative approach to sculpture that often leads to an engagement with craft and the acquisition of specific techniques. She is interested in socio-political and feminist issues, which she explores in her own practice and in various collaborations.
